Healthy Heads in Trucks & Sheds Promotes Mental Health Support Nationally During Truck Week

Healthy Heads in Trucks & Sheds (Healthy Heads) is set to deliver a strong, visible presence across Australia during the Heavy Vehicle Industry Australia’s (HVIA) Truck Week 2026, bringing mental health support directly to people working in the road transport and logistics industries through a coordinated, nationwide program of on-the-ground activations.

With a footprint spanning from Western Australia to the east coast, Healthy Heads will meet drivers and people working across the supply chain where they are, at truck stops, depots, roadhouses and major industry events, reinforcing the importance of mental health and wellbeing across one of Australia’s most critical sectors.

In Western Australia, Healthy Heads outreach vehicle, the DAF LF “Roadie” will travel between major partner sites and truck stops, offering free health checks and informal wellbeing conversations for drivers. These sessions are designed to be accessible, practical and stigma-free, giving drivers the opportunity to engage in a way that feels natural within their working environment.

At the same time, on the East Coast, the organisation’s well-known Kenworth truck “Kenny” will undertake a high-profile journey aligned with key industry moments and advocacy opportunities.

Kenny’s schedule includes supporting R U OK? in Trucks & Sheds Day activations at Ampol sites, followed by a visit to Parliament House during Budget Week, where Healthy Heads will advocate for increased investment in mental health support for the sector. The truck will then continue its journey south to participate in a Drive Day in Torquay in partnership with Knorr-Bremse, before heading north again for an activation at the Ettamogah Rail Hub with WHG.

The journey also includes stops at BP roadhouses to connect directly with drivers, before concluding in the Hunter Valley at HVIA’s TruckShowX, one of the industry’s flagship events.

The scale and reach of the Truck Week program reflects the commitment of Healthy Heads to providing practical, frontline support while also elevating awareness of mental health challenges faced by those working in transport, warehousing and logistics.

Healthy Heads CEO Naomi Frauenfelder said Truck Week represents an important opportunity to connect with industry in a meaningful way.

“I am proud of the national coverage Healthy Heads delivers from east to west coast, and Truck Week is the perfect opportunity for our team to be on the road in support of industry,” she said.

“By meeting people where they are, we can have real conversations, provide practical support, and continue to build awareness of the importance of mental health across our sector.”

Truck Week also highlights the importance of collaboration, with Healthy Heads working alongside a network of Corporate Partners to deliver its programs at scale.

“I thank all our Corporate Partners for their generous contributions in support of our mental health and wellbeing initiatives,” Ms Frauenfelder said.

For an industry that underpins the Australian economy but often operates out of sight, initiatives like Truck Week play a vital role in ensuring drivers and industry staff feel seen, supported and valued.

Through its national reach, strong partnerships and focus on practical engagement, Healthy Heads continues to drive meaningful change, ensuring that mental health support is never far from the road.
