Trucking Basics book

We are grateful to NTI for access to their ‘Trucking Basics’ book. It is a useful guide on basic truck information and terminology, and will help supplement your knowledge, whether you are already a part of our great industry, or just curious to learn more about it.

Road Safety Around Trucks

The Australian Trucking Association (ATA) has relaunched its iconic SafeT360 campaign, aimed at educating car drivers on how to safely share the road with trucks.

The campaign includes three videos, providing insights into some of the most critical issues that truck drivers need to navigate every day: truck blind spots, stopping distances and overtaking procedures.

SafeT360 cardboard VR goggles are available through Steering the Future, with schools and organisations encouraged to arrange a visit. Selected videos can also be viewed without VR equipment from the SafeT360 website.

Thanks to the National Heavy Vehicle Regulator we’ve got to absolute industry legends with some great messages about driving safely around trucks:

Trucking With CJ – Kid’s Book

Is That My Aunty – Kids Book

$19.95

Is That My Aunty? is a joyful children’s picture book written by Casuarina Smith and illustrated by Aaron Lodder, celebrating the fun, laughter, and love that connect families, especially those who travel and work in the trucking world.

Harry and Lilly are waiting for Aunty to arrive in her truck.
Every rumble on the road gets them asking, “Is that my Aunty’s truck?”

Garbage trucks, concrete mixers and fire engines roll past, and the excitement builds with every page until Aunty finally arrives in her familiar rig.

A fun, heartwarming story for truck-loving kids and adults alike.

HV101 – online training and induction course

HVIA Training online induction course “HV101” has become a standard part of many organisations’ new-starter induction process, ranging from transport fleet operators, to government regulatory bodies, enforcement agencies, and of course our own members from across the heavy vehicle industry.

The course provides practical, dynamic, interactive online learning that is ideal for new entrants to the industry.

It is just as suitable for staff, customers and stakeholders at any level seeking to improve their understanding.

If you are managing a team, bulk registrations can be purchased and used over an extended period – with full back-of-house access and visibility for Group Leaders.
