Across Truck Week, industry associations, safety organisations, media outlets, event brands and health partners helped carry the message into their own networks. Some promoted the week to members and stakeholders. Some made practical resources available. Others went further again, creating their own Truck Week initiatives and adding new depth to the national program.

Truck Week 2026 started as a simple idea: recognise the people and businesses that keep Australia moving. What followed was a week of depot BBQs, school visits, health checks, workplace celebrations and community engagement right around the country - with enough sausage sandwiches to dream of competing with Bunnings. From grassroots participation to strong industry pride and public goodwill, Truck Week quickly began feeling like something much bigger than a pilot initiative.

The Steering the Future mobile exhibition has helped bring transport and heavy vehicle career pathways to life for hundreds of students at the inaugural Fowler Future Fest. Held at Fairfield Showground in Western Sydney on Thursday 14 May, the event was founded and supported by Dai Le MP, Federal Member for Fowler, in partnership with Fairfield City Council, to showcase future career opportunities for schools across the local electorate.

A research-led program helping fleets, supervisors and drivers recognise fatigue risks and take practical action before tired driving becomes a safety issue. Fatigue is a factor in an estimated 20% of road crashes, and people who drive for work are overrepresented in crash statistics. Fatigue can build through long hours, early starts, demanding schedules, stressful conditions and pressure to keep moving.

For Bob Martin, former HVIA President and longtime industry figure, it was a privilege - and a fitting first journey for a vehicle designed to bring skin checks closer to communities, workplaces and events across the country.

The Australian Trucking Association (ATA) has relaunched its iconic SafeT360 campaign, aimed at educating car drivers on how to safely share the road with trucks. The campaign, which is featured on the SafeT360 website, has been brought back to life in the lead-up to Truck Week 2026 on 11 May, responding to ongoing concerns about driver behaviour- including distraction, unsafe lane changes, and a lack of understanding about the space trucks require to operate safely.

One of the more persistent myths is that opening more roles to women somehow means lowering the toughness or resilience of the workforce. Our new Road Safety Around Trucks resource page features practical video messages from well-known industry ambassadors Yogi and CJ, shared courtesy of the National Heavy Vehicle Regulator. The page helps the wider community understand how to share the road safely with heavy vehicles, covering overtaking, blind spots, turning trucks, braking distance, oversize loads and other everyday situations where a little more space can help keep everyone safe.
